1997 Topps Finest Silver Embossed Refractor

First Alomar card off ebay in quite some time...Baseballcardpedia states the odds for a silver embossed refractor was 1:192.  The front and back both have a refractor finish.  This completes the 4 different Alomar cards from the '97 Finest set.  Though I guess there's an unembossed (sp?) version of this out there too.

1999 Pacific Invincible Platinum Blue

Took almost a year to add a new card to the collection...it had sat on COMC for a while before I added it to my cart with a purchase of other Indians cards I wanted.

A Top 10 Hit

Progress has been extremely slow in getting any new Sandy cards, let alone one off the Top 10 most wanted list.  Card was a little more than I wanted to pay for a Recollection auto but there are so few listed that I didn't want to lose out on another.

I'm still shaking my head at the November 2014 Alomar Recollection I needed that sold on eBay for under $15.  That auction was listed and won while I was away for the week deer hunting here in Ontario.

The One That Got Away

First one I've seen for auction in years...I did regrettably pass up a complete set of the executive proofs or what ever you want to call the xxx/250, xxx/100 and xx/25...I didn't know much about them at the time but should have picked them up in hindsight...Congrats Brad!  Nice Card.

Five Months Later...Bronze Monday

Haven't added too much to the collection lately but did receive a COMC order today highlighted by the 1991 Topps Gallery of Champions Bronze version.  Other highlights include the 2014 Leaf Memories buyback of 1992 Leaf #'d/5, 1997 Pinnacle All-Star Fanfest Card, a 1998 Topps Tek (Brad - you already had this pattern, don't worry!) and the 1998 Pacific Omega Face to Face insert with Piazza.

Silver Monday

I have occasionally looked at the Topps Gallery of Champions metal cards on eBay over the years but never purchased one.  I purchased the sterling silver version on eBay recently and it arrived today.  Nice heavy oddball card.  Still the aluminum version and I think there's a bronze version as well.

On a side note, Metallattorney's #1 card on his Top 10 Favourites list taunts me each time I check his blog to see what new Sandy cards he's acquired.

Finally

Finally was able to knock one card off my top ten list.  Now have all six (1997 x 3 & 1999 x 3) Flair Legacy parallels.  Now to knock off those Masterpiece 1 of 1's!
